Fritz, I remember when you won your 20th game on the last day of the season against the Red Sox. I know you now have health problems. God Bless…………signed Yankee Fan Forever

Thanks for remembering George Lauzerique. I was a classmate of George’s at George Washington HS in NYC. Actually was the baseball team’s student manager so I got to see George in action a lot. Great athlete. Great team under longtime coach Art Flynn.

Fritz, I started watching Baseball big time in 1966 at age 11, That Yankee team is still my favorite and I can remember that season like yesterday, you and Mickey and Mel were my favorite players, I think of that team a lot and saw that I could reach u using this so I had to let u know how much u guys meant to me growing up, I hope u are doing well!

Fritz, I grew up in McLean, Virginia just outside of Washington, DC. Fred (Bubby) Talbot grew up six houses up from me. He was ten years older than me but I idolized him and followed his career. He moved to Falls Church, VA and I would go over to his house and we would talk baseball for hours. He could be a little rough around the edges but he was a good man. He gave me some memorabilia from his playing days that I treasure to this day. Would love to hear if you have any stories about Fred. I miss him dearly, we would talk at least once a week on the phone.

Fritz–As an Oriole fan in the 1970’s you came to Memorial Stadium as a member of the Indians. It was Orioles autograph night so I stood in line waiting to get Mike Cuellar to sign my 1959 Topps BB card of himself. This took place in the O’s bullpen. He signed a crummy color photo of himself and wouldn’t sign my BB card so I wandered over to the Cleveland bullpen and you were there and were kind enough to sign the back of my ’59 Cuellar card. Sold my card collection nearly 30 years ago so out there exists a ’59 Cuellar card (as a Cincinnati Red) with a Fritz Peterson autograph on back. Thank you Fritz Peterson for making me a very happy kid.
