Happy Birthday to Cotton Nash, who played major league baseball for the White Sox and Twins, and in the NBA for the Golden State Warriors. He might be best known for playing college basketball at the University of Kentucky. He originally signed with the Angeles and was highly regarded enough to be traded to Chicago for Moose Skowron. His time in the majors was brief: 13 games, 16 At-Bats, and 3 Hits in 1967, 1969 and 1970. The highlight of his time in the MLB game in his second game, September 10, 1967, when he was brought in to play First Base as a ninth inning defensive replacement for Ken Boyer. Joe Horlen was pitching a no-hitter against the Tigers, and Cotton recorded all three putouts of the inning. He never played against the Yankees.
